After Argentina won the World Cup by beating France 4-2 on penalties in the final, the Brazilian side made a surprise move for Lionel Messi.
According to the State Sports Director of Rio de Janeiro, Messi has been invited to set foot again at the Maracana Stadium’s Hall of Fame. This is the legendary arena of Samba porcelain because many legends have set their footprints here.
The historic Maracana stadium hosted two World Cup finals in 1950 and 2014, and also saw Messi’s Argentina become Copa America 2021 champions when they beat Brazil 1-0.

Messi accepted an offer to set foot on the Maracana.
Messi’s footprint on the Maracana Walk of Fame will appear alongside Brazilian greats like Pele, Garrincha, Rivelino and Ronaldo alongside other illustrious legends including Elias Figueroa of Chile, Dejan Petkovic of Serbia, Eusebio of Portugal, Sebastian Abreu of Uruguay and Franz Beckenbauer of Germany.
If Messi really set foot on the Maracana, that is something that makes the public talk. It was surprising that Brazil accepted to humble itself to give favors to an Argentinian player.
