After being handed the captain’s armband by Mikel Arteta in the summer, Odegaard performed brilliantly for the Gunners and Enrique considers it a great signing for them.
Odegaard first moved to north London on a loan deal from Real Madrid, before the youngster returned to the La Liga giants and was later signed by Arsenal for £30m.
Odegaard is performing convincingly for Arsenal.
Real Madrid have players like Luka Modric who still produce world-class performances, but Enrique still feels it was a mistake for Carlo Ancelotti to let him go: “The praise is well-deserved from Rio Ferdinand. What a shame. a great player and also very humble. He would play in any team in the world.”

Arsenal’s two most recent captains – Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – have not performed well and the captaincy has been stripped. Odegaard is convincing his coach that he is the right man.
