The left-back joined Lorient as a free agent this summer after his contract with Manchester City expired in June.
This comes after Mendy was cleared of rape and attempted rape. The footballer cried when he heard the “not guilty” verdict at Chester Crown Court in July, marking the end of a nearly three-year process.

Mendy has just returned to the field after more than 2 years of litigation.
He has faced multiple charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault. In January this year, he was cleared of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault after the end of a five-month trial. By July, Mendy was found not guilty of all the charges against him.
On Sunday, Mendy made his debut for his new club, Entering the field for Vincent Le Goff with 19 minutes left in regular time, he was on the field when Lorient scored the equalizer in the 90+8 minute thanks to Romain Faivre.
