Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp suddenly praised Jude Bellingham in front of the media when the race for the signature of this young star heated up after the 2022 World Cup.
With Real Madrid and Manchester City also showing strong interest in the £100m midfielder, Klopp started making moves to give Liverpool an edge in the race. The German coach said as Liverpool returned to the Premier League match against Aston Villa on Boxing Day:
“I think everyone agrees that Bellingham is brilliant. Imagine someone seeing him for the first time, how old would they think he is? Bellingham plays very mature, like a 28-year-old player. “
Klopp praised Bellingham after the Dortmund midfielder had a successful World Cup in Qatar.
“He’s had a phenomenal World Cup. The things he can do are hard to learn and the things he has to improve on are easy to learn.”
“If we want to help Bellingham, don’t create any barriers in his development. That would be really great.’
