Lingard left MU last month as a free agent after 11 years with the Old Trafford team. The 29-year-old scored 35 goals in 231 appearances for the “Red Devils” and also impressed during his loan spell at West Ham for the 2020-2021 season.

According to the Guardian, a return to West Ham has been rumored, but Lingard’s side have been baffled by Nottingham Forest’s offer of a one-year contract worth £200,000-a-week.
Lingard also hopes to be able to return to compete for a place in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The attacking midfielder was part of coach Gareth Southgate’s squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals four years ago but was absent from last year’s Euro 2020 squad.
