Ismael Bennacer is an established midfielder for AC Milan, but previously he was a promising talent in the Gunners’ youth team.
The Algerian international joined Arsenal in 2015 from French side Arles-Avignon. However, his time at the North London club was short-lived, with one League Cup appearance before being sold to Italian side Empoli in 2017 for €1 million.
Since leaving Arsenal, Bennacer has developed into a top quality midfielder. After a successful spell at Empoli, he arrived at AC Milan in 2019. The 25-year-old has become a key figure for the Rossoneri, demonstrating his versatility, vision and ability to regulate the game.
Bennacer is currently valued at around 40 million euros. And now, Arsenal have realized their mistake in letting Bennacer go and tried to bring him back to the Emirates before signing for Jorginho in the January transfer window. The Calciomercato newspaper clarified that the reason Bennacer turned down Arsenal to extend his contract with Milan was because of his desire to win the Serie A championship with the Rossoneri.
