Bayern started the match at the top of the table, one point ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund will have to face Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon, whereby a win over Bremen will help the reigning Bundesliga champions Extend the gap to 4 points for at least 20 hours and put pressure on their great rival.

Bayern put a lot of pressure on Dortmund.
New coach Thomas Tuchel chose Sadio Mane to start and Leroy Sane to be the substitute. Bayern had possession for almost three-quarters of the time in the first half, but they had only two shots on target, as they struggled to break through the home team’s solid defence.
It was not until the 62nd minute that the Gray Lobster opened the scoring with Serge Gnabry’s quick moment of opportunity. 10 minutes later, WILLane entered the field not long ago and scored a goal to help the visitors widen the gap.
However, with 4 minutes remaining, Niklas Schmidt shortened the score for Bremen, making Bayern fans uneasy until the last seconds.
In the next match, Werder will face RB Leipzig next Sunday, while Bayern take on Schalke on Saturday.
