According to a report from Bild, Bayern Munich fans expecting to see a superstar-studded attack this weekend against Borussia Monchenladbach will be disappointed:
“Bayern officials are holding a lot of internal discussions about the possibility of strengthening the flanks after injuries to Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry. It remains to be seen whether Will they enter the transfer market or trust Mathys Tel and give you the right opportunity to make a breakthrough.”
With Jamal Musiala’s proven performance on the touchline, it seems head coach Thomas Tuchel is trying to avoid using Mathys Tel on the wing – especially in a period when the team really needs him.
Although extremely talented, Tel has been more effective as a super sub than as a starter. Asking him to play wide in some important matches could be bad for the 18-year-old, who is naturally a central striker.
In addition, the fact that Bryan Zaragoza can come to Munich in January will add another member to the depth of the Gray Tigers’ squad.
