Facing Georgia in the FIFA Days friendly match series in October, the Thai team was severely disappointed when they lost with a heavy score of 0-8.
Sharing and quoting Tuoi Tre newspaper after the home team’s disastrous defeat, coach Mano Polking said: “Before the match, I expected the whole team to do better. Many new players were called up and played for the national team for the first time, so the results were like this.

I don’t blame the players. The whole team tried their best. The loss against a strong opponent helped the Thai team learn many lessons. In the first half, we made many mistakes and were punished. The whole team will continue to make efforts for the next match.
Matches against higher ranked opponents are good tests on the journey of Thai football rising to the Asian level. The Thai team focuses on attacking play and we want to know if we can compete with teams above our level.”
