Journalist Albert Roge reported, Barcelona have reached an agreement to extend the contract of goalkeeper Inaki Pena. The 23-year-old player came from and grew up from the La Masia youth academy. Barcelona are set to make an official announcement about Inaki Pena’s new contract.
Inaki Pena arrived at the Nou Camp in 2012. Since then, the Spaniard has made great strides in his career. Phase 2 of the 2021/2022 season, Pena plays for Galatasaray club on loan from Barcelona.
Pena made his debut for Barcelona’s first team in a match against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League group stage. Currently, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is still Barcelona’s number one goalkeeper. The possibility of Pena taking a regular slot is very low.

The opportunity will come to the 23-year-old goalkeeper in cup competitions. The Copa del Rey match against CF Intercity became the right moment to help Pena come out and score with coach Xavi Hernandez.
Reports suggest that Barcelona will award Pena a new contract until 2026. Both sides have agreed terms.
