The future of some stars becomes a headache for the current Barcelona. The Nou Camp home team faces the scenario bid farewell to 7 players on a free transfer contract expires in the summer of 2023.
The first is the case of Memphis Depay. According to the Spanish press, the Dutch striker is likely to leave in January. The former Man United star hardly occupies a regular starting position under coach Xavi Hernandez.
Similar to Depay, defender Marcos Alonso is out of contract next summer. The former Chelsea star impressed and showed a quick adaptation when he arrived at the Nou Camp. Therefore, Barcelona is likely to tie Alonso’s feet.
Unlike Alonso, Sergi Roberto did not contribute much and had an impressive enough performance for Barcelona at right-back. Another case with an uncertain future is Hector Bellerin. The Spanish defender has not proved much when his game is interrupted by injury.
Old General Sergio Busquets is highly likely to leave Barcelona after the contract expires. Busquets’ next ideal destination is MLS. In the end, the future of two goalkeepers Arnau Tenas and Inaki Pena was questioned when playing time was limited.
