According to L’ Equipe, everything has changed regarding Bernardo Silva. Man City have made moves in signing Lucas Paqueta and that means they are also open to negotiations for the Portuguese international.

Barcelona likely to sign attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva

The famous French daily reported that coach Pep Guardiola’s team would be ready to listen to offers for Bernardo Silva. However, any club that wants the midfielder will have to pay a very high fee because he is one of the most appreciated “assets” of Man City at the moment.

Paqueta’s entry into Man City’s list means that Barcelona’s battle for Silva has been extended. The player has said that he wants to play for the Nou Camp team and he has asked City to negotiate a deal that is sufficient for all parties involved.

Paqueta was among those who revealed he was leaving Lyon last year and rumors are now linking him to a move to the Etihad Stadium. However, he and Silva are two players with similar styles and play in the same position, so the English champion will need to sell one.

According to the Spanish press, Barcelona’s entry into the race for Silva is a step in the right direction for them. Recently, Man City were not ready to negotiate about Silva but now, due to developments related to Paqueta, it seems they are ready to listen to reasonable offers.

If successful in the Bernardo Silva deal, Barcelona will continue to be “popular” in this summer’s transfer window even though they are in debt of about 1 billion euros. Previously, the Catalan team spent more than 100 million euros to bring in two famous names, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde.
