According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are said to be ready to give Douglas Luiz a new contract to avoid the attention of opponents. Arsenal’s 25-year-old target also has other suitors, and the Midlands club are ready to repeat the approach they took a year ago.
Unai Emery has made a huge difference at Aston Villa since taking over as manager of the club from Steven Gerrard. The Basque coach has exploited all the abilities of this team. Villa finished seventh last season, to the surprise of many.
After an unstable start to the current season, Aston Villa ended round 10 with 22 points and ranked 5th in the rankings. There are growing calls for a race to the top four, but that needs Emery to have enough personnel to make a run.
As a result, Emery and Aston Villa will look to strengthen their squads in January while retaining their key players. One of them is Douglas Luiz, who Arsenal is interested in in the next transfer window. The Brazilian midfielder has become an indispensable part of this team when the Spanish coach gave all his trust to this 25-year-old player.

He is being considered for re-signing the contract even though it has just been renewed not long ago.
Another re-signing will prevent interest from teams in the midfielder next summer. If the news is accurate, Villa is showing its intention to conquer greater challenges and wants Luiz to play an important role in this transition.
The lure of trophies could attract Luiz to other clubs like Arsenal, but Villa are not without a chance to do so. Therefore, they will probably give him a new contract and end speculation about their key midfielder.
