It’s safe to say that Clement Lenglet is having a difficult season in the Premier League. Joining Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal in the summer, Lenglet has struggled with little playing time at Villa Park.
Despite being a regular in Europa Conference League matches, Lenglet has only appeared in three Premier League matches so far. This leads to uncertainty about his future.
However, Aston Villa coach Unai Emery affirmed: “Lenglet is a very good player. He even comes to the training ground when the players have a break. I talked to Lenglet and sent him a message that I was very happy with him.”
Coach Emery also hinted that Aston Villa will keep Lenglet: “I need him, the team needs him right now. In my mind nothing has changed in this relationship.”
It should be noted that Lenglet has started the last three consecutive matches for Aston Villa, which could be a sign that he has regained trust from the Spanish coach.
