Arsenal’s attack needs to be strengthened for the race to win the Premier League title this season. The Gunners are keen to add a centre-forward and are heavily linked with Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
However, Toney’s price could be up to 80 million pounds, despite his long-term ban. Furthermore, Bentford’s poor form caused coach Thomas Frank to try to keep the English star there. The London team is currently only 4 points above the relegation zone after losing 6 of their last 7 matches.
Accordingly, Arsenal must consider a backup plan. And Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke has caught the Gunners’ sights. The former Chelsea and Liverpool star is in impressive form, contributing greatly to helping The Cherries win 6 of the last 7 matches.
Solanke has scored 12 goals in just 18 Premier League appearances this season and impressed Arsenal scouts with his all-round performance. Also according to The Star, Bournemouth will ask for an amount of around £50 million for Solanke – the striker moved to the south coast for £19 million in January 2019.
