Spalletti confirmed that the Arsenal midfielder will play, despite Saturday’s incident. Specifically, he was hit in the head after a high kick from Jakub Kiwior. Jorginho needed stitches on his head after the match, but Spalletti still wanted to let his student play.
“Jorginho has stitches in his head from the last match and we have to be very careful, but we need his legs,” he said.
Thomas Partey’s injury has helped Jorginho play regularly in recent times. He has played for the Gunners regularly since the 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League.
Coach Mikel Arteta likes to play Jorginho as a number 6 and that helps Declan Rice play higher. Overall, despite his age, Jorginho is still a good midfielder that Italy or Arsenal have at the moment.
