Arsenal put on a dominant performance from start to finish and only let FC Zurich concede once with a Fabienne Humm penalty.
Frida Maanum opened the scoring for Arsenal right from the 18th minute. She was also the one to make it 3-0 in the 32nd minute. In the first half, Caitlin Foord and Stina Blackstenius were the remaining players to open fire to close 45 minutes. the first minute with a 4-0 victory in favor of the Gunners.
After the break, Arsenal continued to show a remarkable strength. Maanum completed his hat-trick in just 51 minutes. The remaining female Gunners scored in the second half were Blackstenius, Foord, Little and Iwabuchi.
With a 9-1 destructive victory, coach Jonas Eidevall’s team booked tickets to the knockout round. This is good news for Arsenal as they recently lost Beth Mead and recently Vivianne Miedema to ACL injuries.
