Robert Lewandowski has been banned for a long time for gesturing towards match officials after he was sent off during a game against Osasuna on 8 November. Accordingly, Lewandowski covered his nose while entering the dressing room after receiving two yellow cards.
The club appealed the decision, but the results were not smooth. The Court of Arbitration for Sport has now upheld the three-match ban. That is a loss for Barca.
Coach Xavi Hernandez will lack a main goalscorer in the upcoming derby against Espanyol on Saturday, December 31. In addition, the Polish striker will also miss 2 confrontations against Atletico Madrid and Getafe.

Lewandowski will miss Barca’s next 3 games.
Memphis Depay is one of the options to replace Lewandowski although the Dutchman has not been able to play much this season due to injury. Both Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati can also take charge in the next matches.
However, Lewandowski is shining in La Liga with 13 goals in the tournament. It is not easy for other Barca players to take the place of Lewandowski.
