Man Utd’s resounding 4-1 victory over Chelsea this morning paid a heavy price with Antony’s injury. The €100 million player left the field in the 29th minute after a collision with Trevoh Chalobah.
The former Ajax player initially tried to get up to continue playing but he quickly collapsed on the pitch and had to be carried off on a stretcher. Sharing with the media, coach Erik Ten Hag said that it will take more time for doctors to conclude about Antony’s time away from the pitch. However, it is likely that he will not be able to participate in the FA Cup final on June 3.
“It’s the reaction of a player who is about to be out of the game for a long time,” commented Gary Neville on Sky Sports when he saw Antony lying on the field. “His hand hit the ground looking very painful.”
After the match, Man Utd’s Instagram encouraged Antony: “Recover well, Antony”
Meanwhile, Antony’s teammate Jadon Sancho wrote: “Get tickets to the Champions League! Great win tonight, well deserved, amazing fans. Great evening with the Reds.”
Antony quickly Comment with clapping hands and hearts.
