The player who arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer has not yet made his Real Madrid debut. He underwent knee surgery in August and then suffered thigh problems during the recovery period.
Arda Guler recently returned to training and was on the bench in the team’s last two matches against Rayo Vallecano and Braga in La Liga and Champions League respectively. The youngster was expected to come on in the second half against Braga, with Los Blancos leading by three goals after just an hour, but he was once again overlooked.
Carlo Ancelotti was asked about Guler in the post-match press conference. He said the club are being “very careful with him” due to the two injuries he suffered in quick succession.
The Italian coach told reporters: “We are being very careful with him, as Guler had only just returned to the team after a serious injury. There will come a time when he will reach 100% performance.”
Guler scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 51 first-team appearances for Fenerbahce before moving to the Spanish capital.
