Argentina has ended a 36-year wait for the world championship title. La Albiceleste won the 2022 World Cup gold cup after beating France on penalties in the final. Lionel Messi is one of the most prominent stars on Argentina’s journey to glory.

Messi won the World Cup in a more convincing way. The 35-year-old striker owns 7 goals, 3 assists and a brilliant performance.

The World Cup title helps Messi end the debate between him and Cristiano Ronaldo over who is better. Many experts voted Messi as one of the three greatest players in the history of world football, comparable to the two legends Diego Maradona and Pele.

Real Madrid boss explains why he won't call Lionel Messi the GOAT - Football

Ancelotti commented on Messi.

According to coach Carlo Ancelotti, he does not consider Messi to be the GOAT (the greatest of all time). The Italian strategist explained: “I can hardly say that. Messi is a great footballer. His career has been spectacular.”

“However, if I say that Messi is the greatest star of all time, I am not sure about that. Every period has important, big stars. I cannot say that Messi is the greatest player in the history of football.”
