In an effort to strengthen their squad, Nottingham Forest turned to the Bundesliga. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Premier League representatives have reached an agreement with Dortmund to recruit midfielder Giovanni Reyna on loan.
Romano informed on Twitter: “Gio Reyna to Nottingham Forest, here we go! The deal was signed with Borussia Dortmund with a loan deal. Nottingham will pay Reyna’s salary until June.”
“Nuno Espirito Santo is pushing to sign him and currently has an agreement with Reyna’s agent Jorge Mendes. A medical examination has been booked,” Romano added.
Reyna has hardly been a starter this season. He only played 336 minutes in 13 matches in all competitions for Dortmund.
To get Reyna’s signature, Nottingham Forest defeated a series of strong candidates such as Marseille, Monaco and Lyon in France; Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Villarreal in Spain; Benfica of Portugal.
Currently, Nottingham Forest only has 20 points after 22 rounds. They were only 2 points better than the group holding the red light.
