According to exclusive information from journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad club wants to recruit Italian football legend Paolo Maldini for the position of sporting director of the club. Currently, he is still unemployed since leaving AC Milan due to conflicts with the “Rossoneri” leadership.
During his time as technical director at San Siro, Paolo Maldini was credited with creating a vital link between the first team and the club’s management. He is also known for his role in inspiring and educating players about the importance of contributing to AC Milan.
Paolo Maldini will reunite with many “acquaintances” if he takes the job at Al-Ittihad. The Arab team currently owns once prestigious stars such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho or Luiz Felipe. Not to mention many other prominent names fighting in this country.
Al-Ittihad’s immediate priority is to find a new coach, after Nuno Santo left. The team’s recent poor performance caused the strategist who led Wolverhampton and Tottenham Hotspur to be fired.
