Messi is under great pressure at PSG. In the recent loss to Rennes, the Argentine superstar was booed and whistled by his home fans. They think that Messi receives too much salary and does not contribute anything.
Messi’s current contract with PSG expires at the end of this season. After the 2022 World Cup, PSG leaders are very confident that they will successfully retain Messi, but now things are much more ambiguous, mostly from the players.
In Spain, there are many reports that Barca will reunite Messi. President Joan Laporta also made many hidden statements when saying that the Messi-Barca relationship has not ended. Most recently, his close friend Aguero – who moved to Barca because of Messi’s orders before retiring due to heart disease, spoke up:
“I think Messi should hang up his boots at Barca. This is his home and it would be nice to end everything where it started. My feeling is there is a 50% chance Messi will return to Barca.”
