Victor Lindelof’s contract was due to expire in the summer but Manchester United have guaranteed he will stay at the club for another year. His contract extension comes as Raphael Varane’s future at Old Trafford remains in question. As revealed by SunSport in November, the Frenchman looks set to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer.
In addition, according to The Sun, The Red Devils also plan to tie up two other players for another 12 months, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri.. Wan-Bissaka has returned to play after a hamstring injury. But he had to fight with Diogo Dalot for the right-back position.
Meanwhile, Mejbri has only played 5 matches for his parent club in the Premier League. However, Man Utd seems unlikely to allow him to leave on a free transfer amid interest from teams like Sevilla and Lyon.
Coach Erik ten Hag and his team are currently only winning 1 of their last 5 appearances, after being defeated 1-2 by Nottingham Forest.
