Former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea star has been appointed interim coach of Serie B club Como after they parted ways with Moreno Longo. Fabregas, who was managing the club’s B team and youth team, was promoted to interim head coach until the club found a suitable replacement.
The former Spain international announced his retirement from football in the summer. His last appearance was with Como in the 2022/2023 season, when he played an important role in the club finishing 13th in Serie B. After retiring, the 36-year-old took on coaching duties. The club confirmed Fabregas’ appointment through an official statement: “The search for a new coach begins immediately, with Cesc Fabregas taking on the duties on an interim basis. Cesc Fabregas, currently in charge members of Como 1907, will have their first training session on Wednesday morning.”
The Spanish coach’s first match at professional level is against FeralpiSalo later this month in Serie B.
