1. Rob Holding
The England star has been seen as a scapegoat for Arsenal’s defeats since William Saliba was injured. In fact, Holding partly caused the championship dream to collapse, but he is not the only name responsible.
The 27-year-old player always keeps himself professional, ready to play whenever the coach asks. However, with the transfer plan outlined by the Gunners, Holding seems to have no chance.
The English centre-back is not young anymore, and his playing time will certainly be reduced significantly after the arrival of Jurrien Timber. Therefore, the prospect of Holding leaving Emirates will be the best decision for both sides.
2. Cedric Soares
The Portuguese is a big voice in the dressing room and an important spiritual leader at the Emirates.
After a loan spell at Fulham, Cedric has spoken of his desire to return to Arsenal and fight for a permanent place. However, having to compete with Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White and even Timber is extremely difficult.
With Mikel Arteta having many quality options, it will be difficult for the 31-year-old to stay at the Emirates.
3. Kieran Tierney
Tierney has long faced speculation about the future, after losing the starting spot to Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Once an important link in Arteta’s system, the Scottish star was pushed to the bench by the stability as well as the important contributions that Zinchenko created.
The ability to pull the ball and move smart from the former Man City star proved to be much more effective. Arteta only used Tierney when Arsenal needed a way to strengthen the defense.
It is known that Tierney is currently receiving special attention from Newcastle United. And this could be a deal that helps the Gunners significantly supplement their budget.
4. Nuno Tavares
The Portuguese left-back is a talent at the back, but he has not been able to make a career under Mikel Arteta. After a mixed debut season, Tavares impressed in Marseille and enjoyed a fairly productive campaign with contributions in the “final third” area.
However, the weaknesses in the sense of position and distraction made the former Benfica talent lose points in the eyes of the Gunners captain. Moreover, some sources also revealed that the Arsenal coaching staff was not satisfied with Tavares’ attitude, which was seen as part of the reason why he was pushed to Marseille last summer.
Currently, Tavares is attracting interest from West Ham or Galatasaray. And Arsenal want to collect about 20 million pounds to bid farewell to the Portuguese star.
