Arsenal have seen fewer injuries this season. However, their entire campaign could have been thrown into disarray because of just one Europa League game. The Gunners lost Takehiro Tomiyasu and William Saliba to injuries in the same half as Sporting CP, which could cost them the whole season.
Furthermore, Saliba’s prolonged absence has left them weak in defence, with Rob Holding unable to replace the French star.
Arteta wants to use the summer transfer market to correct some of those mistakes. In addition to buying midfielders, they also want more central defenders. Specifically, a source from Thehardtackle confirmed The Emirates Stadium team considers recruiting 23-year-old defender Josip Sutalo. The Croatian centre-back could leave Dinamo Zagreb in the summer if a big club invites him.
Croatian media claim that it will take 18 million euros to sign the Croatian defender. Sutalo has performed well in Zagreb this season and has started all six Champions League matches.
